The St. Andrew's "First Thursday Evensong" on December 3rd at 8 p.m. observes the Feast of Nicolaus of Myra, that Bishop of the Church in a port city of ancient Asia Minor, modern Turkey, Patron of Sailors--and renowned for his passion for Trinitarian orthodoxy in a theologically contentious era and for his kindness and generosity, especially with devotion to the poor. The St. Andrew's Parish Choir will sing the William Harris Evening Service in A Major and the Charles Wood anthem "O Thou the Central Orb." A recital will follow, featuring Mezzo-soprano Candice Shaughnessy, and then we are all invited to join in a seasonally festive reception in Brooks Hall. Advent blessings! Bruce Robison
