</underline>A new summer and fall slate of clay classes has been
announced. Exciting classes include majolica classes, slip casting,
wheel throwing, mug making, tile making, kiln building and more. Email

Stained Glass Classes Continue in June

Union Project stained glass classes are becoming more and more popular
for our out of state visitors! Union Project has welcomed class
members from Washington State, New York, Illinois, Virginia, Ohio,
Indiana, Missouri, West Virginia, and of course Pennsylvania. Class
#6SGC is on June 2-4. Contact

Party @ Union Project!

</underline>Join a new Renaissance! In the spirit of the 1920's Harlem
Renaissance - where innovation, creativity and culture spurred social
change and equality - join the Union Project as we host a 'Rent
Party'! In the 1920s, Harlem artists would hold parties with live
music, food and drink and would pay their rent with admission earned
at the door! The Union Project has recently purchased its building and
has a new mortgage to pay off, so come to our Rent Party on Saturday,
June 3 to enjoy and support the diverse East End Renaissance of art,
culture and community! Artists: Omega Love and Christian Dillingham
Trio (Jazz, Soul & Blues); Peabody High School Visual Art & Union

Intern/Volunteer Job Opportunity

</underline>Union Project is in need of a marketing intern. This
intern will work primarily in conducting market research and analysis
for current and upcoming Union Project social enterprises. Intern must
have basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft office,
Internet, and writing skills. This position is great for a college or
graduate student hoping to fulfill internship credits towards

<underline>Union Project participating in Highland Park Yard Sale

</underline>Need a good excuse to tackle the ever-popular
spring-cleaning?  The Union Project¡¦s Board of Directors will
participate in the Community Yard Sale on Sunday, June 4.  Our goal is
to raise $1,000 towards the Union Project¡¦s catalytic community
programs! Donations will be accepted starting May 1 and running up
until the Friday before the sale ¡V June 2, 2006 ¡V at any time the
Union Project is open.  Receipts are available for tax purposes. Union
Project cannot pick up items for donation, and will ONLY accept the

<underline>See The Temptations, Support the Union Project

</underline>On Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 8PM, the Pittsburgh Symphony
Orchestra will host its 3rd Annual Community Partners Concert with
guest stars The Temptations and chairperson, Max Starks!   A portion
of ticket sales from this incredible night goes directly to the Union
Project!!  The PSO donates the orchestra services, and secures
corporate sponsors to underwrite out of pocket costs associated with
guest artist services and concert production. Tickets will be on sale

<underline>Free Grant Workshop at the Union Project

</underline>A free grant workshop will be held at the Union Project on
June 27 from 7-9:15 PM.  Sponsored by the Rivers of Steel National
Heritage Area
(<underline><color><param>0000,0000,FFFF</param>www.riversofsteel.com</color></underline>),
the workshop will focus on grants of interest to folk and traditional
artists; cultural, arts, and heritage organizations; festival
committees; traditional performing and visual arts groups; and
historical societies.  Grants from the Pennsylvania Council on the
Arts, Pennsylvania Humanities Council, Pennsylvania Heritage Parks
Program, Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, and the
Carnegie Library¡¦s Foundation Center will be discussed. For more
