We are THRILLED to announce our FIRST Highland park house concert of the year – a minor miracle given the last few years. And we are hoping for better luck this year (given 2/4 from ’22 were cancelled). We have about 10 seats left so let us know!!!

Our artist is Matt Moran – his CD from last year was probably my favorite

Matt Moran is a regionally know alt-country singer-songwriter with 300+ shows and a full US tour under his belt.He is currently promoting his first full-fledged album Heartache Kidreleased May 2022 as a follow up to his 2020 acoustic album "Black Sheep."The "Heartache Kid" album has made Saving Country Music's list of "Most Anticipated Albums in 2022" and Outsider.com's list of "Best Albums of May 2022."Heartache Kid is a ten track album that explores what Moran calls "existential country." The songs cover the topics of love ("Wait"), death ("Black Sedan"), sobriety ("Tequila or Me"), and the collapse of the American Dream ("This Can't Be It").Influences for the album include Jason Isbell, John Moreland, and Counting Crows. Moran describes the sound of the album as "a country kid that grew up on 90s alt-rock."Moran is a completely DIY outfit from recording to booking to press; all aspects are handled by himself.

The timing of the evening is from 630-10 ish. Between 630-730 pm, there will be some snacks from Food Glorious Food (mostly desserts) and a place for kids (see more about that below) to play outside. There also will be an air hockey tournament while they are getting set up.

The concert will start promptly at 7:30 pm.

Other details:

Safety is first. Thus, we ask that people who come are vaccinated. Masking is great but not required.
We will have a bit of drinks and snacks but are really open to people bringing other things they want to share!
So everyone can enjoy the concert, please only bring kids over 10 years old or if they can be quiet and really attend to the concert. Once the concert starts the only focus will be on the amazing musicianship.
After the concert we will be asking for donations. It is their livelihood so please come prepared to give.
Space is somewhat limited (as are chairs!) WE FILLED UP FOR THE LAST CONCERT So please rsvp to Bob (bma1@mac.com) so we have some idea of how many people are coming.
After the concert if people are up for it, we will start a fire and make s’mores!
