A couple in Highland Park would like to hire someone for part time in home infant care two or three days a week. The ideal candidate will be creative, flexible and organized and willl enjoy bonding with our infant. We value attachment parenting and are looking for a minimum 6 month commitment starting in April. Infant CPR certified
Applicant will need to climb up and down stairs in the family home
Experience and some training on early childhood development, safety, and CPR preferred
Provide own transportation to and from home

Comfortable with cats in home

DETAILS OF THE JOB:

Part-time in-home infant care
16 – 24 hours per week
At least a 6 month commitment
Child care only; no housework or running errands

Focus: nurturing our infant son to build trust; emotional development, social, communication, cognitive and physical skills

Daily routine will include:

(1) on-demand response to baby’s needs for nutrition, diapering, comfort, stimulation, naps, etc.

(2) managing breast milk storage, heating and use

(3) introducing foods to infants

(4) age-appropriate creative play, reading and interaction for optimal development

(5) use of cloth diapers

(6) daily logging of milestones, behavior concerns, diapering, sleeping routines
