Through inclusive, engaging, enjoyable activities including yoga and improvisational theater games, participants learn and explore new tools to help navigate social settings. Since launching in 2014, Open Up has provided more than 1200 classes to over 250 children and adults living with disabilities in the Pittsburgh region. Open Up is seeking a board treasurer to advise the board and oversee best practices in regards to fiscal health. Open Up had been providing accessible movement and mindfulness services since 2014 under fiscal sponsorship, and received independent 501(C)(3) status in March. Our organization is looking to establish procedures to ensure that accurate and complete financial records are in place. To the core, we are an inclusive organization that employs individuals with disabilities through the support of state, federal, and community resources for inclusion. This is a voluntary position but the real good feel goods are unlimited!! Board Treasurer Responsibilities: - Educate the board and leadership team on financial matters including federal and state requirements - Advise on budget preparation and financial planning - Ensure that the organization has proper risk management provisions in place - Maintain books, handle bank transactions, process payroll biweekly, file tax forms - Prepare or review necessary financial reports - Attend quarterly board meetings/monthly committee meetings Ideal Candidate: - Knowledge of and experience in non-profit finance regulations and practices - CPA preferred - Entrepreneurial (startup) growth mindset - Available May 14th 6:30PM-8PM for next Open Up board meeting *Contact info@openuppittsburgh.com <info@openuppittsburgh.com> to schedule an interview.*
