There has been such a flurry of people asking about homes for sale in
Highland Park, that I thought I should let everyone know about our
house.
Located at 5627 Jackson Street, it has been completely renovated. There
is all new plumbing, electrical, walls, bathroom fixtures, kitchen,
many floors, and lighting fixtures. We bought it four years ago as the
last our four children were preparing to leave the nest and we really
couldn't justify living in our huge Friendship house all by ourselves.
We lovingly turned this spacious Victorian into a great house for
ourselves. There's plenty of space for working in private, as well as
wonderful room to entertain. Not to mention the fabulous master suite
with built-in bookshelves and an incredible bathroom. It has a
wonderful third floor, the perfect space for kids. Unfortunately, just
as we were completing the renovation, my husband was offered a teaching
position at Penn State. It was a wonderful, unexpected opportunity and
he accepted the job. Now our youngest child is graduating from CAPA and
I am going to join my husband in State College. It breaks our heart to
leave our home and Pittsburgh, but...
Anyway, you can get a good look at the house online in a couple of
places. It was featured in the Post-Gazette a few weeks ago
(http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09122/966777-30.stm) and will be
featured on the NY Times website on Tuesday. You can check it out at
the Howard Hanna website, too: http://5627jacksonst.howardhanna.com.
Please le me know if you have any questions.
