It isn't clear from Marc's email, although I'm guessing he made a report with the police. For anyone who experiences an issue with crime, filing a police report is essential. If you feel more discussion about a specific area or issue is needed, the police are always present at the zone 5 public safety meeting which is - I hope I have this right- the 2nd Tuesday of the month at the Union Project. When I saw Marc's email, it took me back to when I had a bike stolen. It really sucks. Biking is great for our health and recreation. They improve our neighborhood and the environment, do it really specially sucks. Does anyone know for sure if any Target owned camera is out there and will the Target security review camera data if asked? My soap box: The police force is smaller than ever before. Use your ability as citizens to demand more funding, better training, and meaningful assignment of officers to provide better public safety. Stepping down from soap box. This infuriates me. There are cameras all over Target and that entire intersection is equipped with cameras that tax payers paid for. Why can't someone look at ANY of the cameras and help him find out who stole his bike? I have never heard of those cameras being used for any purpose whatsoever. There is still a lot of crime in that area - so why did the city install them?
Sorry to vent, but crime seems to be at the same level it was before all of these security measures were implemented.

Well, I just had my bike stolen from Target in East Liberty. If you happen to see it around town, drop me a line.
