After getting a strong recommendation for Reynolds on Bryant from a neighbor at the HPCC meeting, seven of us went for dinner this week.  What a treat!  We all ordered different entrees, including one vegetarian, and everyone gave rave reviews.  The salads were interesting and nice-sized.  The entrees had interesting touches.  I ordered salmon with a little melted goat cheese on top (a terrific touch) and roasted red peppers.  This was one of the best salmon dishes I have tasted anywhere.  The deserts were excellent and interesting.  Chef Rey's five year experience cooking on a major cruise ship really shows.  And we got to take our own wine instead of paying the usual triple cost at most restaurants.  Not including desert, meals averaged $18 ( half what Shadyside charges).
I don't believe we should go to businesses on Bryant St. just because they are there.  BUT once they have earned my business, then I think they deserve our support.  This is the restaurant, within a walk or a three minute drive and no parking charge, that Highland Park has been asking for, for the last 25 years.
And to the couple who left in a huff because they wanted to eat, not in the dining room, but in a smaller room devoted to private parties on a different floor--and then drove to Shadyside--and then took the time to disparage a new restaurant when they had not even eaten there-- I say you missed an excellent meal  at a bargain price right in our neighborhood.
Call a couple of neighbors and give it a try.
