It's time to re-form the 2011

"Coro Latinoamericano Juvenil de Pittsburgh"!

For those of you who are new to the Coro Juvenil (youth choir), we are a SHORT-TERM SPANISH-SINGING YOUTH CHOIR.  Our goal is to provide free or low cost opportunities for the children and youth of the greater Pittsburgh region to be exposed to and enjoy the music of various Spanish-speaking countries.  At this time we are an annual group, gathering together in the Fall of each year to prepare 2-3 songs to be performed at the (adult) Coro Latinoamericano de Pittsburgh's** (see below) annual Christmas concert at The University of Pittsburgh's Frick Auditorium.  In past years we have been asked to sing at additional events; if there is interest we may also expand to perform at other events within the region. Membership in El Coro Juvenil is open to all ages 5-18. Spanish language experience is not necessary -- only interest! 

Participation in El Coro Juvenil will require a commitment of approximately 4 rehearsals and 1 evening concert on December 10.  Rehearsals will be held at St. Andrew’s Church in Highland Park from 5:30-7:30pm on the following dates: November 21, 28 and  December 5 with the possibility of 1 additional practice/ dress rehearsal (if needed) on December 9th.  Members are also expected to practice at home between rehearsals with the provided CD of Coro music.
