Subject: Mother's Day at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium
To: Highland Park Community Council <hpccpgh@gmail.com>

Hello Highland Park neighbors,

Mother’s Day is right around the corner (Sunday, May 12), and with free admission for mothers the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium expects very high attendance. We know there has been local traffic due to this high visitor volume in the past, so this year we are implementing a multi-point strategy to reduce congestion and improve the experience.

This year we will:

  • Implement a comprehensive parking plan to alleviate additional traffic on the roads.
  • Open additional parking via the City lot (adjacent to the Zoo’s lot) to help reduce neighborhood parking.
  • Work with Pittsburgh police officers who will control traffic at the lights on One Wild Place and Butler Street and at the end of Baker Street by the Exxon station.
  • Have an ambulance on site for emergencies.
  • Have a secondary walk-up entrance at the Education Center. Note there is not parking available at the Education Center.
  • Have additional bathrooms located in the parking areas.

If you have any questions, please reach out to visitorservices@pittsburghzoo.org. Thank you, we appreciate your continued support and look forward to welcoming you to the Zoo soon.

Sincerely,

AmericanHumane
