I always like to fill the bottoms of my plant pots with drainage materials that would otherwise see a landfill. Here are the types of things I'm interested in:

Broken terra cotta and ceramic

Glass beads

Packing peanuts (NOT biodegradable ones)

Your ideas!

NO gravel, please. It's limestone, and that changes the soil pH and affects the plants.
