Hello,

I've learned from DOMI that the roundabouts being piloted for the N. Euclid neighbor way should be installed Monday 7/6 at the intersections of Callowhill, Rippey, Hays, and Wellesley; planters will be added later in the week. We need volunteer/s who will water the plants at each intersection for about a month, as well as keep an eye on them and let DOMI know if any are damaged or stolen.  Depending on the size of the roundabout, there will be a "self-watering" planter in the center (it needs water less often) and possibly smaller planters around it that will need watering more frequently (possibly daily if we have a heat wave). Volunteers would need to provide the water.  The plan is to keep the planters reasonably sized so that volunteers will not need to make lots of trips with water back and forth across the intersection to water them all. After a month, DOMI will make their final determinations about the roundabouts; if made permanent, the maintenance needs of the plants at these intersections and the additional intersections will be looked at again.

If you are interested in volunteering, please send me an email with your phone number and which intersection/s you'd like to help with.

Also, DOMI is creating an ADA committee that will examine the intersections during the pilot and consider what types of modifications, signage, etc., may be needed to maximize access and safety for all users.

Thanks for your interest -
