I spoke to an employee that was working at Petco when Sunny was brought in. So far, I was wrong about two details. It turns out he only spent one night outside and it was a man (sorry) that brought him into Petco. She said that on Monday afternoon, a man carrying his belongings and trying to hold Sunny in his two hands at the same time, came running into Petco to drop him off. The bus driver was waiting outside. He told her that he had gotten onto the bus and Sunny flew in behind him. Sunny was in distress, flying frantically around the bus and it took him awhile to settle down at Petco. I learned that Petso will hold lost pets for 48 hours and then they can sell them. The universe was with us, because Sunny already had someone else waiting to take him home.
