Please help us get the word out that the Farmers' Market Coop of East Liberty is open year round
This time of year, most farmers markets in the area close up for the season. The outdooor markets operated by the City of Pittsburgh wound things up Thanksgiving week. So at this point our market- the Farmers' Market Coop of East Liberty- is the only market still open. And we will be open all winter, as we have been since 1941.
We still have locally grown meat, eggs, cheese and produce, as well as other items such as coffee, dried fruits and nuts, and olive oil that come from small family owned farms. We have local honey, maple syrup and prepared foods.
But still we find that many people think that we close up for the winter. So we ask you for two things. First, please try to patronize the market throughout the winter. Second, please help us get the word out to that the market is open year round. Please share this message with a friend or family member. We don't have a lot of resources for advertising and promotions so we rely on our customer base to spread the word about the market.
So for example, we are open every Saturday in December. This includes:
Ths folks at East Liberty Development (ELDI) recently commissioned a vidoe that features the Farmers' Market. It was directed and produced by local film maker Michael Pisano. So a great big thanks Michael and ELDI's Margaret Graham for producing the video. So please check out the video and share it with others.
Thanks in advance for your suppot.
See you at the market.
