Through personal connections and news reports, we are increasingly aware of issues around violence and public safety in the East End. Violence perpetrated by youth is one of the main concerns. We are also increasingly aware of many proactive solution-oriented efforts among grassroots community groups, the new Mayor, Pittsburgh Public Schools Superintendent and local Police. Our hope is that you will come with ideas, suggestions and guidance for the Union Project, our elected officials and each other about what new efforts can be made to help avert future muggings, robberies, assaults, etc. Most importantly – come to the discussion to help think about how we can collectively cultivate hope, opportunity and investment among neighborhood youth! PUMP Hosts Social Enterprise Brown Bag Forum In today's current economic climate, nonprofit organizations must learn to diversify their streams of income in order to survive. Social enterprise is a way for nonprofits to not only develop these revenue streams, but also keep their programming fresh and creative. Come on Thursday, March 23, Noon - 1 PM in the A.E.
