I was recently in Nicaraugua and visited a community
library for young people. The library
was started as a volunteer effort in the town of Granada
and is not funded by local
government.
So I an hoping to collect books--mostly in Spanish--for
young people. Does
anyone here have any books they'd like to donate? I
am looking for early readers, picture
books, story books, fiction, poetry, etcetera. I'll
be glad to pick up the books and can send them
to a U.S. address where they will be shipped to
Granada.
This library has a great feel to it. The day I was
there (in December), the kids were making and
decorating Christmas cookies. The library is a wonderful
haven for young readers but getting enough
books on a steady basis is difficult.
