Just to clarify my previous response--the construction on Highland is not a water or sewer line, it is a gas line.  The water only got involved when the contractor broke the water main.  Repairs to sidewalks, etc., would be the responsibility of the gas company (People's, I assume) and its contractors, not the city.

Hello Neighbors,

We noticed  during the last couple of days, construction crews were installing a water/sewer pipe line along N. Highland Ave. between Hampton & Bryant St.  We were surprised that we were not contacted by the City of Pittsburgh about their plans, and the subsequent  water shut-off.
We didn't see any mention of the planned work on the Highland Park website, and  curious if others were unaware as well.

Also, we would like to know if the construction company/City of Pittsburgh will cover any repairs if  damage occurs  to the sidewalk, curb, or the affected property.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

              Thanks,
