For those interested in a change in our city leadership..... an organizational meeting will be held today, Thursday, April 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Red Room Cafe, which is located at 134 S. Highland Avenue. The cafe is just finishing up construction so don't be fooled if it still does not look open. Yes, the meeting will be there despite soaped windows, etc...! What is our purpose? We intend to form an organization (working title in the works!) whose mission is to draft and elect the city's next mayor -- one who might be a credible and electable candidate that has not already been identified. Short of that lofty goal, our purpose would be to organize citywide a significant number of passive and proactive citizens that will have a positive and significant impact on the upcoming mayoral race. At the we will do the following; (1) review the mission statement of this organization, (2) preview the organization's strategy and action plan, (3) present draft of profile of the "ideal" candidate, (4) review draft of pledge of potential candidates, i.e. what we expect candidate to commit to in exchange for our support, and (5) review draft of what potential organization members would commit to, i.e. guiding principles.
