I follow a Facebook page for Girl Scout Leaders and a request has come through for a variety of school based items.  

Since I'm incapable of playing a musical instrument, I never thought about it, but complete instrumental collections have been destroyed.  

My girls in Troop 54281 are interested in packing and mailing to Houston your used and still working brass or reed instruments.  I selected those because they most likely won't break or be too large to ship. 

Also, the classroom and school libraries have been decimated.   If you have new or as good as new fiction or non-fiction books (easy and early readers are especially important), the Girl Scouts will also collect and mail those.  

Please no textbooks, magazines, videos, CDs,  Science non-fiction books  should not be more than three years old.  We don't want to be sending books containing incorrect or dated information.  

I will collect your emails and get back to you about a pick-up/drop-off date.   I think it will be in about 3 weeks.
