Greetings from Pittsburgh: Neighborhood Narratives
– a collection of nine short films in which the city plays a starring
role – will make its anticipated debut at the Regent Square Theater September 25, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. Screenings
will continue throughout the city until November 8.
Each
short film is approximately 10-15 minutes in length, and all films will be
shown together at each screening. Approximate total run time: 100 minutes. Following
each screening, respective filmmakers will be on hand for post-performance Q
& A. Most screenings will
also be followed by a reception – see complete schedule below.
Neighborhood Narratives
is a film featuring the work of Nelson
Chipman & Jeremy Braverman (Regent Square), Jason Georgiades
(Bloomfield), Matthew J. Fridg & Jenn Golling (Homestead), Timothy Hall
& Marc Nieson (Hill District), Justin Crimone (Downtown), John Rice (South
Side), Justin Francart (Oakland), Sam Turich & Gab Cody (Lawrenceville),
and Ray Werner (Strip District). The
project is coordinated by Andrew Halasz and Kristen Lauth Shaeffer.
Doors
open 30 minutes before each screening and tickets may be purchased onsite at
each venue. Tickets may be purchased in advance only for the premiere through any
Pittsburgh Filmmakers box office (during theater hours), or at their main
office (during business hours) at 477
Melwood Avenue in Oakland.
Seating
is limited. Prices: Premiere – $10 All other screenings – $5
