Hey, folks!

I realized that a ton of people are gardening for the first time this year because of all the crazy recent events. That means a lot of you probably have questions.

So, instead of a formal topic this week, I thought we'd hold a "Bring your questions" gardening class.

Now, while this is your chance to get those questions answered, please recognize that I'm likely not going to be able to answered incredibly detailed or specific questions.

If you have those, give it a try. But, if I can't answer them, write them down and email them to me. I'm always happy to work topics into an existing class, it even create a new one!

Good question examples:
"My compost stinks. Am I doing something wrong?"
"My tomato seed packet says 'indeterminate.' what does that mean?"
"How often should I fertilize my houseplants?"
"What do I need to do to get my soil ready for planting?"
"How can I get birds to come to my yard?"
"I want plants for shade. Any suggestions?"
"Where can I buy food quality (insert type of plant here)?"
"What's your favorite ice cream flavor?"

Not-so-good question examples:
"Can you show me how to graft an apple tree?" (Yes. But not over Zoom.)
"My lawnmower won't start. What's wrong?" (It's broken.)
"Here are pictures of all the plants in my yard. What are they?" (I'll need more information than that, and some books.)
"I used to have this plant and I'd like to get it again. It was green and the leaves had a white stripe. It had really pretty white flowers. Can you tell me what it was?" (No. No idea. Sounds neat.)
"What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?" (African or European?)

I can handle lots of questions about: perennials, trees, shrubs, edibles and even some houseplants (I was an orchid grower for 7 years). I'm totally willing to admit to very little specific knowledge about lawns/non-ornamental grasses.

I'm also a certified pest education instructor, so can handle some of those questions, too.

So, I'll be available on Zoom tomorrow from 9:30-11:30 am and again from 6:30-8:30 pm. If you learn something valuable in class, and you can afford it: $15. If it ends up being a just got you, or you just don't have extra cash right now: no cost.

Cash, check, credit, venmo, PayPal...

And, if those times aren't convenient, but you're interested in these classes, it just in asking some questions: call or text me. I'm here to help!
