Since I got a few requests for the same information, here's a list of  the suggestions I got from the kind ListServe people who took the time and energy to reply to my search for a sewing repair person to come to the home.

1.Tim Grottenthaler comes to your home to repair sewing machines. He came to my house and did a terrific job on my two table-top Singers. His phone number is (724) 287-5075.

2. I don't know of a repair person but I might suggest that you contact Cut and Sew Studio in East Liberty.  They are located upstairs from the Waffle Shop and Abay on Highland and Center Avenues.  They use many old machines and must know good repair people.  You can find them at cutandsewstudio.com.

3. Tim Grottenthaler has come several times to my home to service my machines.  He worked for a long time with Singer and does all the Joann Fabric repairs.  I recommend him highly.  His number is 724 287-5075

4. Pam, I do not know anyone who comes into the home. We have always taken it to Thortons. The address is:3301 Babcock Boulevard
Pittsburgh, PA
(412) 366-6611

And a suggestion for learning how to do it yourself:
Try Youtube , you can learn almost anything on there!

Thanks to great neighbors! PAM
