Friday night we had dinner at the new restaurant -- a very extensive menu, "higher cuisine" than typical American, with some Indian offerings. We ordered prime rib, fries, soup; beef curry with basmati rice, Greek salad... The food was excellent (GREAT fries, wonderful salad), the service prompt and conscientious. It's now a BYOB, which we didn't know, or maybe we would have done so. Small corking fee, typical. The chef came to our table to explain that two waiters had canceled in the late afternoon due to accidents - his last minute replacement was a very nice young woman who needed a little coaching, but promptly, courteously and apologetically brought whatever she had forgotten, if we requested it of her. I wouldn't quibble about upstairs/downstairs seating, personally. If you have difficulty with stairs, you could probably sit upstairs - maybe call ahead to make sure. And finally, we didn't notice any unpleasant smells! ?? Overall, we had a pleasant meal, plenty of good food to eat -- pleasant background music, and at a reasonable price. Wish we had had room for the luscious desserts... We will definitely return! Larry and Claudia K. (Kim) Viehland 1401 N. Negley Avenue (H) 412-362-0220/cell 498-0226
