Update for Saturday April 21st

Here is a brief update on events at the market this Saturday. Just a few new additional items are noted below. We are all waiting with anticipation for more locally grown items, but we are not quite there yet. A summary of the produce is at the bottom of the messsage.

The Update

Greenawalt Farm

The Greenawalts will have lots of locally grown eggs, as always. I spoke to Brian this evening and he was not 100% what he would have locally grown, but does expect to have locally grown rhubarb.

J.L. KENNEDY MEAT STAND

As mentioned in yesterday's update, special itmes for this week include:

**PORK TENDERLOINS

**split and/or quartered chickens weighing 3-3.5 #

**HICKORY SMOKED BEEF STICKS

They will also have a nice selction of their regular items. If you want to place an order, please call out to the farm at 724-898-2316.

Kistaco Farm... continues to have locally raised apples. Items for this week include:

Cider
Appple varieties- Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Idared
A variety of shipped in veggies
Homegrown Kistaco Farm Salad Mix
Vegetable and Herb transplants!

Zang's Greenhouse... Special items for this week include, local lettuce, and local micro greens. Rick will also have cooking greens such as kale, collards and swiss chard and fresh cut basil. Rick will have shipped in asparagus. He told me local asparagas is right around the corner.

The Greek Gourmet- Mike from the Greek Gourmet wanted me to let everyone know that he will continue to bring the homemade spinach and meat pies to the market each week- in addition to 20+ flavors of hummus. Yum!

Kew Park Coffee Bar- Rick was able to get us one last box of tangerines, so we will have fresh tangerine juice for the next 2 weeeks. They are extremely ripe and make excellent juice.
