Hello Neighbors

The City does a curbside Yard Debris Pickup twice per year, and the Spring one is coming up soon.  Get your yard debris together and put it out so that it will be composted.  You can drop debris off at a few DPW locations throughout the year, but they will charge you if you show up in a truck.  So fill your neighbor’s SUV, minivan or station wagon, since they will not charge you to drop stuff off from one of those.

Saturday, May 20th

Yard waste must be in paper bags only and placed at the normal refuse collection site.  Bags should not exceed 35 pounds.  Paper yard debris bags can be purchased at local hardware of department stores.  Tree branches and bushes must be cut, bundled and tied in lengths not exceeding five feet.  Tree branch diameter should not exceed four inches.  Material in plastic bags or placed at the curb loose will not be accepted.  The City does not accept stones, dirt, rocks, manure, garbage, lumber or food waste.

Make sure you put the debris out on Friday night after 6 pm or before 6 am on Saturday, or you may miss getting your stuff picked up.  You have two weeks to get your yard cleaned up so you have space to put stuff out for the HPCC Annual Yard Sale on Sunday June 4th.
