I just read the article in the HPCC newsletter about the history of the Heth's Run restoration project. Especially for newer residents like me, I highly recommend this piece by David Hance. I was not aware of how long the neighborhood has been working with the city to restore this important natural resource which is currently the zoo parking lot. Nor was I aware of the lack of cooperation by the zoo in these efforts, an institution that claims to prioritize sustainability, as David points out.
I read it in the print newsletter and am not seeing how to access October's newsletter online yet, but perhaps a link could be shared.
