Hello neighbors, This has been a wild kitten season so far for area shelters. Animal Friends has a waiting list for kittens, and Animal Rescue League took in 600 cats in May and over 650 in June! Adoptions have been slow as well; ARL had 39 cats surrendered on Saturday, and only 2 adopted. The shelters need adoptions, obviously, but are also looking for folks willing to foster kittens until they are old enough to return to the shelter for adoption. This opens up cage space for animals who are available immediately for adoption, and allows them to save more lives. If you are interested in fostering cats or kittens, please contact Erica at Animal Friends (erodack@thinkingoutsidethecage.org) or Cleda at ARL (cklingensmith@animal-rescue.org). Thanks for considering! Meg
