As part of the
public outreach for the Open Space, Parks, and Recreation component of PLANPGH
(OpenSpacePGH), the City will be holding five public meetings in late
April and early May. In these meetings, we will review what the
purpose of OpenSpacePGH is, its progress to date, and we will then place the
attendees into smaller groups, where they will work together to assign
monetary values to their priorities for parks, recreation, and vacant lot
remediation/re-use techniques.
The five meetings
will be held during the last week of April and first week of May. You
can go to the
PLANPGH.com calendar page to see exact times, dates, and places, or download a flyer with all the information (for printing and
distribution).
The prioritization
activities you'll participate in as interested parties and residents
in these meetings will be critical to the success of this plan. It
will also help us understand regional differences in priorities for
the City's open space, parks, and recreation system, so getting a
good turnout to these meetings is very important. We hope that
you'll be able to attend one of these meetings and that you would kindly
forward this on to your family, friends, and community
organizations. (If you've already heard about these meetings
elsewhere or already received an email about them, we apologize--please
bear with us as we try to get the word out as best we can!)
Thank you for your
interest in PLANPGH! We hope to see you at the community meetings!
