Hello Neighbors, 

There are two bags of miscanthus grass and one of iris (light blue)  in front of my house.  If you plant them at dusk and give a good watering and then continue to water everyday for a week, all the plants should be fine.  

Another trick is to cut down the grass to about a foot so the plants energy goes into the roots.  Fertilize after about 2 weeks with a good organic fertilizer.  You can also cut the iris leaves down to about 6 inches.  Irises have  rhizomes and they need to be planted just barely under the soil.
