Thanks to everyone who replied for oral surgeon recommendations!
Here is the list. I did receive good and bad endorsements for the Pitt Dental school though.

Dr. Jeffrey Hitchen--- he's in Cranberry Township but he is an excellent and kind practitioner.

I have used Dr Jim Tauberg for a number of oral surgeries, including implants and have been very happy with him. He is in on Penn Ave in Point Breeze/Wilkinsburg, 412-244-9044.

I got mine done with Dr Foranda. She is amazing, they have payment plans & take dental insurance.

I had a dental implant done by Eric Simga on Centre Ave. I forget the name of the practice, but it’s on Centre between Negley and Whole Foods. Office info would probably come up if you google him. He also sees patients in Monroeville. Just FYI that he won’t do the implant if the jaw bone isn’t strong (dense) enough for the implant to take. That’s not a criticism.  He’s honest and will tell you if you’re not a good candidate for an implant.  I’ve heard of people who had implants at other oral surgery offices whose implants didn’t take. They probably weren’t good candidates. Anyway, I haven’t had any problems with my implant, and I’ve had it for about three or four years now. I highly recommend Dr. Simga. My dentist recommends him to her patients, and a friend’s daughter went there as well and was pleased with the results of her implant.

Hi, my daughter had her impacted wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Kreps at North Pittsburgh Oral Surgery, and we were very pleased with him.  The practice offers many services, including implants. While we don't know the other doctors, the practice was recommended to us by our orthodontist, who's also very good. Here's their link:  https://www.northpittsburghoralsurgery.com

I second North Pittsburgh Oral Surgery... Dr. Wayne Roccia. He is upbeat and awesome. They

stand by their work. If anything goes wrong, they replace it for free. Worth the trip.

I recently had an implant done by Dr. Smiga of Pittsburgh Oral Surgeons. Several locations including Center Ave. in Shadyside. Excellent job performance and super chair side manner.

Had both done last year, 50 yr old baby tooth that got infected and replaced with implant. Used Chestnut Hills Dental and they were great!

Michael S Melnick...Park place building on Craig st oakland!

Try Chestnut Dental in Shadyside, I need an implant done & they have been super knowledgeable!

Tom Brown Edgewood Dentistry

My mom raves about Mark Ochs (mwo1@pitt.edu). He's the chair of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the dental school, but I would try to see him if you can.

Jeffrey Manning/Oakland Periodontal Associates. He does ceramic. (Less metal in your mouth.)

I’m in the middle of this process with Dr. Troup at Polished Dental. He is wonderful and very experienced. I go to the Morningside office, but he does have multiple locations.

Dr. Gary Carmassie, Babcock Blvd. 412-367-4515.

He is the best. Implants are a specialty.
