[Highland Park] activities for kids

We've recently moved to the neighborhood, and this list has already proved invaluable, so I thought I'd try it again. I'm sure that when warmer weather comes the playgrounds will be buzzing with young Highland Parkers, but in the meantime I was wondering whether there are any local activities for kids going on now where we might be able to connect with neighborhood kids. Any thoughts?
