Subject: ** CRIME ALERT - SHOTS FIRED - HIGHLAND PARK **
On 4/3/16 at 11:00am, Zone 5 officers responded to the intersection of Jackson Street & Farragut Street for shots fired. Upon arrival, the officers met with two witnesses who
indicated that they heard shots and saw two vehicles quickly leaving the area. One vehicle was described as a silver "luxury" sedan and the other car was a red Dodge Charger. It is unknown how these cars were actually involved (shooter, intended victim, bystander,
etc.). No descriptions were given of any shooters and no license plate information was given. Officers checked the area and found (10) spent shell casings on the ground. These items were recovered as evidence. At the time of the report, officers could not
find any cars or houses that had been struck by gunfire and nobody was injured.
Because the police report had just been completed and approved last night, it did not appear in this week's Community Crime Update. It will be listed in next week's CCU.
If you know of anyone who had property damaged by the gunfire, please have them call 911 to make a report. The police report number is 59686.
Stay safe,
Jason
