Dear Highland Park Neighbors,

I'd like to inform you of a candidate's forum being held this Saturday, 4/9 from 10:30-4 at Pittsburgh Obama (old Reizenstein).   Your neighbor and an outstanding candidate for School Board-District 2, Dr. Regina B. Holley, will be in attendance (along with candidates for several other seats in Allegheny County) and is looking forward to meeting voters and sharing her decades of educational experience.

If you are unable to attend this forum but are still interested in knowing more about or meeting this candidate, please call 412-417-8071.  In addition, Dr. Holley is tentatively scheduled to attend the next Highland Park Community Council meeting on 4/21 at 7:PM.

Community Unites to Sponsor Non-Partisan Voter Education Forum

A broad coalition of community, civic and civil rights organizations have united to sponsor Non-Partisan Candidates’ Forum Saturday April 9th from 10:30 AM to 4 PM at Pittsburgh Obama (Formerly Schenley High School, formerly Reizenstein) in East Liberty.

All candidates running for County Chief Executive, County Controller, County and Pittsburgh City Council and Pittsburgh School Board are being invited.

So far the Fitzgerald and Flaherty campaigns for County Chief Executive have notified us they will be participating as have the Wagner and McDonald-Roberts campaigns for County Controller. Three candidates for the 9th District Pittsburgh City Council race will be attending including incumbent Ricky Burgess. Candidates for the two hotly contested Pittsburgh School board races will also be in attendance.

In addition to the presentations by the candidates there will be two facilitated discussions on "Charters, Vouchers and Choice" and "Census 2010: What does it mean for Pittsburgh to lose 15% of its Population?".
