I recently sent out a request for the names of doctors who treat basal cell carcinoma.

Three people recommended Zitelli & Brodland Dermatologic practice with offices in the Shadyside Medical Building & also near Jefferson Hospital. They run their own in-house MOHS surgery suite. 412-681-9400.

Dr. Melissa Pugliano-Mauro is a Moh’s surgeon/dermatologist - specializing in skin cancer.  Her office is in the Alexander’s gym on Rte 28 in Harmar.  She took care of my mother in her 90’s and was wonderful!

I like Olga Bunimovich on S. Aiken near Shadyside Hospital.  I had several basil cells removed and she did great job.  Anyone in that group would be good.  I know all dermis have long waits.

 

My doctor for that exact prognosis will answer any questions your friend may have.  Her nurses/assistants are also helpful.  Her name is Dr. Kimberly Rau.  She is located in Hampton Twsp.

 

Some of the best oncologists in the area for skin cancers are located within or associated with Hillman Cancer Center.  I have been working with some at a research level for many years now, although my projects have been melanoma related.  Hopefully your previous bad experience was not there!
