Market update for Saturday July 3rd

Sorry I have been remiss in sending out updates over the last few weeks.  We were on vacation in the Caribbean.  I was able to pick up some Caribbean sugar which we will have to serve with the Kew Park Coffee!

Local Produce

The local produce is starting to roll in.  Here is a sampling of items that will be available.....

Lettuce
Cooking greens
Cucumbers
Zucchini
Green beans
Corn
Blue Berries
Onions
Potatoes (possibly)

There may be a few surprises as well.

Olive Oil Update

People have been reacting really well to the California Olive Oil.   I just received a new Olive Oil shipment this week.  The oil is called Stonehouse.  The farm is located in Oroville, California in Butte County.  We are offering their House Blend Extra Virgin.  This is a blend of a few different varieties.  It has a balanced, medium bodied flavor.

So we will have a total of 5 oils to offer this week....  

Stonehouse-  House Blend

Rancho Arroyo Grande- Leccino

Rancho Arroyo Grande- Frantoio

Olinda Ridge Farm- Mission\Manzanillo Blend (Organic)

Corto Farm- Arbequina\Arbosana Blend 

We dispense the oil out of bulk containers into reusable bottles.  All of the oils can be tasted before you buy them.  We have 500ml and 250ml bottles for sale, but feel free to bring your own- we will fill any clean glass bottle.  Since we are selling the oil by weight, you will not "overpay" when you buy small quantities.  In fact I encourage people to buy small quantities so you are always using fresh oil. That give you an extra incentive to come back to the market often to get your bottles filled and to load up on all the other products offered at the market.

Kew Park Coffee Stand

We will be brewing the Kew Park coffee and serving it with the light brown Caribbean sugar.  We just received a fresh shipment of dark roast whole beans.

We will have fresh squeezed OJ and grapfruit juice.  We will also have fresh squeezed lemonaid.

The Farmers’ Market Cooperative of East Liberty is located at 344 North Sheridan Ave., adjacent to the Home Depot parking lot.  The market operates year round- and is open from 5 AM until 12 Noon every Saturday of the year.
