Homewood / East Hills
5/16/17 Stolen Vehicle - Hamilton Avenue & Collier Street. Victim stated that a guy named "J" took her car and did not return it. She does not know anything about "J" other than he is biracial and 5'11." The vehicle is a 2017 gray Toyota Camry (PA plate KDX-0225). (89306)

5/18/17 Burglary - 7000 block Upland Street. (90819)

5/18/17 Homicide (Shooting) - 2300 block East Hills Drive, 2:53 AM. Officers responded a call for a man shot and arrived to find a 34 year-old male victim inside one of the apartments. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the torso and was unresponsive and had no pulse. Zone 5 officers started CPR but the victim's injuries were too severe and he did not survive. One male inside the residence was taken into custody and there are no other suspects in this case. More information will be forthcoming. (90410)

5/20/17 Aggravated Assault (Shooting) - Neuman Way & Fleury Way, 8:14 PM. Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and found a 25 year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his arm and buttocks.The victim was conscious and alert. He was taken to UPMC Presbyterian for treatment. No suspect description available. (92331)

5/19/17 Burglary - 1300 block Paulson Avenue. (91465)

5/22/17 Robbery - 1300 block Oberlin Street, 12:44 AM. A 60 year-old male victim reported that he was robbed by two unknown men while he was working as a jitney driver. The victim picked the two men up in the 7100 block of Monticello Street and when they arrived on Oberlin Street, then men pulled out guns and demanded the victim's money. The males fled on foot towards Mingo Street. (93096)

5/13/17 Robbery (Business) - 4815 Centre Avenue (Papa John's), 10:10 PM. An unknown suspect entered the pizza shop, brandished a black pistol, and demanded employees open the safe. Employees do not have access to the safe. The suspect instead took some money from the register and fled. He was described as a black male, dark complexion, wearing all black, carrying a black backpack with a red stripe. (87520)

5/15/17 Robbery (Domestic) - Columbo Street & Schenley Avenue, 1:00 PM. A 21 year-old female victim reported that she was driving her ex-boyfriend to Lawrenceville when the two began to argue. The ex-boyfriend, Darrell Dean, 20, of Garfield, exited the vehicle and attempted to take the victim's dog by force. The victim fled in her vehicle (with the dog), and subsequently ran off the road and wrecked. Dean fled the scene. The victim sustained minor injuries. Officers will obtain an arrest warrant for Darrell Dean. (88452)

5/15/17 Attempted Carjacking - Broad Street & Larimer Avenue, 9:23 AM. A 39 year-old female victim reported that she was driving along Broad Street behind the Target store when she encountered a man in the middle of the street. The man blocked the roadway, forcing the victim to come to a stop. The suspect then attempted to open the victim's car door and began banging on her windows. The victim fled in her vehicle. Officers responded to the area and located the male trying to climb a fence leading to the Port Authority busway. The male was detained and identified as Jaquan C. Simmons, 23, of Homewood. The victim made a positive ID of Simmons as the man in the street. Simmons was arrested. (88343)

400 block N. Aiken Avenue
Arrestee: Dameon Tyrell Arrington, 24, of Lincoln-Lemington
Summary:
Detectives Connors, Joliet, and Poling were patrolling Garfield when they responded to a call for a group of men with guns in the rear of the 400 block of N. Aiken Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, the males began to disperse. One of the men, Dameon Arrington, discarded a plastic bag into some shrubs. Detectives kept an eye on Arrington while they checked the bag. They found that the bag contained (6) "bricks" of heroin (about 300 stamp bags). Arrington was taken into custody. During a search incident to arrest, officers found over $2,000.00 cash and marijuana on Arrington. (89346)

7300 block Forest Way
Arrestee: Donte Lamar Ebo, 34, of Lincoln-Lemington
Arrestee: Andre Dion Lewis, 32, of Homewood

Summary:
Pittsburgh Police Narcotics detectives and agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) obtained a search warrant for a home in the 7300 block of Forest Way. This house has been the source of countless complaints of drug activity from Homewood residents. On 5/17, Pittsburgh Police, DEA, and Pittsburgh SWAT served the search warrant. The following items were recovered:a large quantity of both heroin and crack cocaine, digital scales, rubber gloves, drug packaging materials, cash, and a holster for a firearm. Donte Ebo was immediately taken into Federal custody and will be charged by the DEA. Andre Lewis was arrested by Pittsburgh Police and charged with felony narcotics violations. (90004)

Arrestee: Audley Savage, 30, Unknown Address

Summary:
Zone 5 detectives were patrolling Homewood when they observed a gray Acura with an expired registration. The detectives attempted a traffic stop but as soon as the vehicle pulled over, the driver, Audley Savage, fled on foot. Officers pursued Savage and when they caught up with him, Savage fought with Detective Poling. Savage was eventually subdued. A search of the vehicle revealed several 1-gallon Ziplock bags of marijuana.  (90789)

N. Murtland Avenue & Frankstown Avenue
Arrestee: Juvenile Male, 16, of Brighton Heights
Summary:
Staff from the Student Achievement Center reported that a 16 year-old male student was overheard telling someone that he brought a weapon to school to settle a "beef." The male left the school property and boarded a bus. Zone 5 officers Spangler and Cillo arrived quickly and stopped the bus. The student in question was detained and officers recovered a loaded .22 caliber pistol from his shorts pocket. The student was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Minor and Firearms Not to be Carried without a License. (91287)

Frankstown Avenue  & N. Homewood Avenue
Arrestee: Male Juvenile, 17, of East Hills
Summary:
Officers Spangler and Cillo were patrolling the area when they noticed a teenage male on the corner. The officers stopped to inquire why the male was not in school and observed that he smelled like marijuana. The male told officers that he had been kicked out of school and admitted that he was in possession of marijuana. The officers recovered the marijuana and took the juvenile to the police station with the intention of contacting his guardian to pick him up. While at the police station awaiting his mother, the juvenile broke his leg restraint, and attempted to flee the station. It took several officers to restrain him as he was kicking furniture in the station and flailing his arms around, preventing officers from handcuffing him. Officers eventually were able to get him cuffed but not before spitting on one officer and injuring another officer's hand. The juvenile was charged with Aggravated Assault, Escape, Terroristic Threats, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Mischief. (91276)

Frankstown Avenue & Brushton Avenue
Arrestee: Richard Phillip Busa, 54, of Cranberry Township
Summary:
Officers responded to a 2-vehicle crash and arrived to find Busa standing outside of his vehicle. Busa appeared to have rear-ended another driver. Further, Busa appeared intoxicated and he and his vehicle matched the description from a hit & run crash that occurred minutes earlier at Frankstown Avenue & Standard Avenue. Officers detained Busa and found he was in possession of stamp bags of heroin and a crack pipe in his vehicle. Officers took Busa for a breath test and found that he was legally intoxicated as well. Busa was charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Hit & Run, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. (91680)
