A friend has a son heading off to State College in the fall to the engineering department (Civil).

She's getting mixed reviews about what he needs ... Apple vs PC?

 

Does anyone have any recent personal experience with Penn State (or any other engineering program for that matter) and can give any advice about which way to go?
