I attended the PRC's composting class last weekend (details here:http://zerowastepgh.org/ZW-PRC-byvc.html) and they mentioned that the city might have requirements for backyard composting. I've searched the city's website, and all it does is redirect to the PRC website for questions. http://www.pittsburghpa.gov/green/reducereuserecycle.htm

 

Does anyone know if there are requirements? I got the Earth Machine Compost bin for attending the class, but someone there thought the city might require chicken wire to be placed under the bin?

 

Please let me know if this is listed somewhere I overlooked.
