Donating items?

My mother is going to need to be moved into a nursing home (currently in the hospital). I will need to clear out her apartment in Verona and find a place to donate all her furniture and household items. If anyone has any suggestions for agencies that will accept donations of furniture and household goods, please let me know. Thanks!
