Highland Park now has a Free Little Library at 915 Farragut St. This grass roots movement, started in Wisconsin, encourages neighbors to "Take a book. Leave a Book." So, when you are out walking, please stop to see what's available, courtesy if your fellow neighbors. Right now, there are lots of paperbacks for grades 2 and 3, *Freedom*, by Franzen, lots of other fictions titles, and some non-fiction. I'll be reviewing the contents periodically and bringing "stragglers" to library book sales. Please bring your recent reads to add to the Library and share with the neighborhood. Take books home to read. Take one or take 5! Take what you will read. Please also feel free to "recycle" your children's magazines, such as Ranger Rick, National Geographic Kids, and Cobblestone. So, please join us in sharing gently used quality books for all ages and great magazines, too. The library box is made from a kitchen cupboard from Construction Junction, plexiglass from a Highland Park neighbor, paint from the Center for Creative Re-Use, and lots of time cutting , sawing and gluing in the basement.
