there are three burly cats, with collars, prowling in my backyard. My birds and chipmunks are not amused. We, however, are PARTICULARLY not amused because the cats are using our back porch mat by our back door to defecate. Daily. We have washed it down several times, used bleach, etc. and bought new mats, all to no avail. This does not just annoy us, it annoys our indoor cats, who then yowl and spray the back door on the inside to mark it. I know that there are people who think letting their cats out is ok. We think it’s dangerous and unhealthy, both for the cats and all the little critters the cats prey on. We are trying to discourage the outdoor cats from the garden. We have a motion sensor water spray, which means we can’t go out our backdoor to the carpark without climbing over the side of the porch and going thru our neighbor’s garden around the garage to the cars. We have sprayed with cat repellant, tho I’m worried it bothers my tame chipmunks and squirrels. It would be wonderful if you kept your cats indoors to use their litterbox, rather than our porch. If we can train your cats to stay out of our garden, wonderful. If not, I’m not sure what the next humane step is. Any suggestions? Thank you.
