Does anyone have a recommendation for a company that does residential environmental assessments?
I have had a wet basement for years, and now I am afraid that I have a mold or fungus issue.
Any advice is appreciated!

Subject: [Highland Park] Wet Basements

Several months ago we put out a request for recommendations on dealing with wet basements.  Several Highland Park listserv participants responded, and some asked for feedback.  Based on the recommendations we received, we contracted with Watershield, 412-761-9600, to treat our basement.  Their technique involves installing an indoor French drain that empties into a sump, from which the accumulated water is pumped to an outdoor downspout.

Their work has now been completed and we are quite pleased.  The workmen were polite, careful and efficient.  Despite all the rain we have had recently, our basement has remained dry, which is a first for us in all the years we had been living with considerable leakage.

Thanks again to those who responded to our request.  We can recommend Watershield.
