Good afternoon, neighbors,

Last night we caught a group of 3-4 teenage/young adult males trying to break into our car on Callowhill Street around 12:33 AM and intervened (from a safe distance).

After continuously locking/setting our car alarm from the front door causing the car to beep, they proceeded casually up Callowhill towards N. Highland Avenue and continued to try and open car doors even though one saw us standing in the front doorway. We set off our car alarm and they scattered and ran.

We called 911 immediately and notified them of the situation. Afterwards, we checked the car and found the center console and the glove compartment were open and rifled through.

About 2 weeks ago, we thought someone had been in our car as a box and a container in the trunk of our SUV had been overturned and the contents were all over the trunk --- but we weren’t sure if it was accidental or had been tampered with.

Please be on high alert! Be sure to remove any valuables from your car each day and be sure to lock your doors and set your alarms!
