Good Evening Neighbors,
Just wanted to share information about an incident that happened with me on Saturday so that others can be aware and very careful.
I was driving down East Liberty Blvd on Saturday evening (coming towards Highland Park). I went through the stoplight at the Larimer intersection and before I could reach the stoplight at the Collins intersection and young boy (he had to be between 10-12 years old) threw a medium sized rock at my windshield with great force. I was unable to stop due to the traffic behind me but I did circle back around. Of course, by that point he was gone. Luckily the damage was minimal, only a few scrapes, which Safelite assured me wouldnt turn into cracks.
I called the police to file a report and was surprised to hear the 911 operator say that she had experienced the exact same thing in the exact same place as me. She sent some cops out to patrol the area but I dont think anything came of it.
Later that night I learned that a woman that I know had experienced the same thing as the 911 operator and me and like my situation (and im assuming the 911 operator's) nobody had been arrested or held accountable.
Im sharing this story because I want everyone to be vigilant. There is a serial rock thrower wreaking havoc on East Liberty Blvd. Riding in my car with me at the time was my one year old neice and my pregnant sister in law. This situation could have ended a lot worse. Im thankful that it didnt. Be careful and be vigilant on the road, especially on East Liberty Blvd.
