I've added a new 1T hard drive to it about two years ago; holds a ton of recordings.  Should be good for at least a few more years.  If I sell it by Friday I can get you lifetime service for it (no subscription fees).  I've used it with Comcast and Verizon; just need to get them to send you a cablecard.
