Route 8 Butler Street Lane Restriction Monday Morning in Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh, PA
– PennDOT District 11 is announcing westbound lane closures on Butler Street (Route 8) at One Wild Place in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will occur Monday morning, Aug. 4, weather permitting.
Beginning at 2 a.m. on Sunday night/Monday morning, Aug. 4 both westbound (inbound) lanes on Butler Street will be closed to traffic until 6 a.m. as crews conduct utility location excavation.
Single-lane alternating traffic will occur on Butler Street. Flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone.
The work is part of the Route 8 Heths Run Bridge replacement project. The existing bridge built in 1913-14 will be replaced with a new structure. A temporary roadway through the Pittsburgh
Zoo parking lot will be implemented for cars and light trucks. Additionally, the project includes reconstruction of 870 feet of Butler Street, improvements on One Wild Place, drainage, and sidewalk and signal upgrades.

sending email addresses to stcowan@pa.gov and writing “Subscribe – Route 8” in the subject line.
Motorists are advised to use caution and expect possible delays.
