PA is hosting
a presentation free to the public
entitled Greening Your Life:
Safeguarding Your Health and Protecting the Environment on Monday, June 11 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. at
the Mt. Lebanon Library in Meeting Room A (lower level).
Representatives from the Pennsylvania Resources
Council, Inc. (PRC) and the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute's Center
for Environmental Oncology will cover various health risks of common chemicals found in
the home, environmental effects of using these chemicals, and ways to minimize
potential negative impacts of these products. Individuals will learn about safer
plastics and cookware, how to lower exposure to pesticides and numerous harmful
chemicals found in the home, and how to identify day-to-day products that may
cause cancer and other chronic diseases.
The presentation will also explain how to safely dispose of chemicals
that are no longer used or wanted. Examples include household cleaners,
paints, stains, and automotive fluids.
