Booka is a beautiful, sleek, 6-year-old Bengal cat from Animal Friends (a shelter in North Hills) currently living in a foster home. She is being adopted from foster because she didn’t tolerate a cage well (she stopped eating and was very distressed). She has been in foster since early January and is doing very well and is now looking for her forever home! Book is extremely intelligent. She learned her new name very quickly and comes when called. She learned how to use the cat door (to the basement) in about 5 minutes whereas it took our 4 adult cats several days to use it comfortably. We have no doubt that she has great learning potential! Booka is extremely vocal and enjoys having an ongoing discussion to share all the details of her day and night. She’s very active and loves to wrestle with our 4 adult male cats (ages 3-17) and was best friends with a dog in her previous home. She would enjoy feline/canine companionship and we recommend a family with other cats or dogs. However, a family with young children is not recommended as she doesn’t enjoy being picked up (she complains excessively when she is!). But she is very sweet, affectionate and loves attention from her level and from your lap and as she snoozes next to you in bed. Booka is declawed. She suffers from irritable bowel syndrome but it’s well controlled with medication that she takes easily in her food. She has never had any accidents in the house. As is common with this breed, she needs to eat a grain-free diet, which is available at most pet stores and many supermarkets (we’ll give you a list of her favorites!) We fell in love with this unique and loyal lady and are sure she will find a family that will love and cherish her as much as she deserves and desires.
