Can garlic mustard be used as a biofuel?

We hope so!  Join the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, Steel City Biofuels and GTECH for a fun experiment outdoors!  We'll be collecting invasive garlic mustard plants in Highland Park and then testing the seeds to see if they can be converted into biodiesel.

Two dates, two events!

Saturday, June 28, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Garlic mustard seed harvesting
Elm Grove Shelter in Highland Park (follow Stanton Ave. into the park; shelter is on the right)

Sunday, July 13, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Seed pressing and biodiesel demonstration
Blackberry Meadows Farm

Please RSVP to Erin Copeland.  Plan to wear sturdy shoes and long pants you don't mind getting dirty.  And bring some scissors if you have them--it'll help you separate the seeds from the plants!

Hope to see you there!
