Hi neighbors –
Today I went to change our water filter for it’s
six-month change after we noticed a decrease in water pressure since the weekend,
and boy did we have a surprise. It took me 20 minutes to get the filter out of
the housing due to it being choked full of sludge !!! This is a very fine
BLACK Material, not sediment. I called PWSA, and got bounced around, so nobody
has been here yet, but wanted to see if anyone else who has a water filter, or
softener, has seen anything like this. We are just off of the top of Highland Avenue on Callowhill Street,
and apparently our water supply is at the end of a run down our rear alley, but
again this is not sediment. We have had numerous complaints to PWSA about the
color of our water, as well as debris in the past, but we have not seen this.
Please look at your filters and only let me know if you have the same problem.
Last year I was told after we have had to replace new shower heads that we have
the highest water quality here with the new micro filtration plant near the
reservoir, but is that the water that we are getting here in the neighborhood,
as you only get 10 PSI of pressure in your home with a 20’ drop in height
from your water source, so are we getting pumped water from elsewhere in the
PWSA system ???
